Intermediate Pottery "Celebrating Beltane"

$195 ($235 non-member)

Wednesdays 6:30-9 pm  March 13th to May 1st

The last day of class is May Day, or as the ancient Celts called it "Beltane," the day halfway between spring and summer that coincides with the return of fertility to the earth. Learn about the ancient celebration of Beltane and make your own May Day Basket.

Take your skills to the next level under the guidance of ceramicist, Angela Potter, as you learn additional techniques for throwing more complicated forms and building upon the skills learned in the beginner class.  Work on refining the lip, body and foot; paying attention to detail, weighing and throwing to 1/4" thick.  This class will cover surface techniques, throwing off the hump and sectional work.  Advance your understanding of trimming and of glaze, stain and slip application. Designed for those who have already taken a Beginning Clay class.

$10 non refundable registration fee included in tuition.
