The Banyan Tree: Story-Telling Workshop with artist Roshan Ganu

Friday, October 22nd, 5:00pm-8:00pm

All Ages

Cost: $10

Location: Steffl Gallery at the Depot

Photography, videography, and your written words create the stories told around the Banyan Tree. Multimedia artist Roshan Ganu invites the public to take part in a community art project. The Banyan Tree, a 6 x 5-foot sculpture installed in the Steffl Gallery at the Duluth Art Institute, becomes a gathering space for people to connect and share stories around a theme. Participants receive prompts and ideas to write personal narratives inspired by her works of art. Ganu hopes you will recount moments of everyday existence, emphasizing the idea that art is not limiting; it inspires us to connect by being vulnerable with each other.

This workshop will take place in the Steffl Gallery in the Duluth Art Institute Depot location.

***Proof of vaccination is required to attend this event. Participants must bring a copy of their vaccination card and a form of identification. Masks are required.
