In this course students learn to weave a stunning rib-style basket from dyed and natural rattan reed, incorporating a pre-drilled antler as the handle or focal point of the design. The project will be a functional “Itty-bitty” melon shaped basket. Antlers will be pre-drilled with primary rib framework inserted. You’ll weave your own shape with creativity while learning Cathryn’s “tricks of the trade” and proper antler drilling techniques. Approximate dimensions, based on antler size: 10”L x 5”W x 6”H.

Tools/Materials
Usual basketweaver’s tools: dish pan or water bucket, scissors, awl, towel, measuring tape, pencil and paper for notes, and weavers tool if you have one.
