Thurs., Sept. 21 (Peace Day) :: Zeitgeist Teatro

The Iraqi and American Reconciliation Project (IARP) creates bridges of communication, understanding and support between Americans and Iraqis. IARP received a grant from the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation to host a screening and workshop in Duluth, sponsored by the Duluth Art Institute and Zeitgeist. The workshop, “Cross-Cultural Storytelling,” will teach participants to develop a deeper understanding of how to make cross-cultural storytelling effective, accurate and fair. Iraqi Voices teaching artist and filmmaker Nathan Fisher, with Iraqi directors, will lead a discussion. The workshop is free but registration is required via www.duluthartinstitute.org/Events. The one-hour screening will feature a compilation of short documentary films, with Fisher and the directors available for a post-screening conversation.
