Multidisciplinary artist Ray Allard teaches this casual drawing class that will focus on using different drawing tools. Ray teaches students how to manipulate pencils, pens, brushes, ink, felt brush markers, radiographs, and quill pens to create drawings that highlight student's unique creative expression. Ray will include supportive critiques and guidance, promoting the idea that drawing is fun and can be an enjoyable way to pursue art at any level. The class is best suited for ages 16+. Students leave with the confidence to maintain an independent drawing practice. Students should bring a sketchbook and any materials they enjoy drawing with. The DAI will provide all other supplies.

About the instructor: Ray Allard is a cartoonist, illustrator, graphic artist, printmaker, writer, poet, filmmaker, photographer, papermaker, teacher, philosopher, and musician. His comics appear weekly in the Duluth Reader.
