Youth Mixed Media: Fantastic Flora and Fauna with Kristina Estell (Ages 6-12)

Learn the value of self-expression and the positive outlet that art making can be with artist Kristina Estell. Campers will explore the principles and elements of design through techniques in drawing, collage, sculpting and painting. Inspired by the artwork of artist duo Chiaozza, campers will work from plants and animals as drawing subjects and using collage techniques to create whimsical and abstract mixed-media collages. Campers will work off their collages to create 3D form sculptures using papier-mache. Campers will learn and practice how to create textures and mix paint colors to bring their sculptures to life.
The Duluth Art Institute is following CDC Covid-19 guidelines, as well as state and local protocols. Social distancing measures are practiced in all indoor spaces. Masks are required when indoors.
