The Duluth Art Institute maintains a Fiber Studio in relationship with the Duluth Fiber Handcrafters Guild.
The Studio is located in the lower level of The Depot (506 W. Michigan St). Floor looms, spinning wheels, and other fiber arts equipment (small looms, carders, felting supplies, etc) as well as an extensive fiber arts library are housed at this location.
Both 4 and 8 harness floor looms are available to rent. Rates are $10 per week or $30 per month and can be rented during the year when they are not needed for weaving classes. The renter must supply her/his own weaving materials.
For rental opportunities contact: Erin Endsley, Studio Manager at 218-464-3439. Additional information concerning equipment rental policies and rates can be found on the Duluth Fiber Handcrafters Guild website.
Classes and workshops in weaving, spinning, felting, dyeing and other related fiber arts are offered by members of the Duluth Fiber Guild as well as guest artists throughout the year. A full listing of Duluth Art Institute classes can be found on the Education portion of our website.
For information about classes, workshops and registration contact: Michelle Misgen, Education Program Manager at 218-723-1310 or the DAI business office 218-733-7560.
