    Adam Swanson

    Adam Swanson is part of our emerging artist series. A true community artist, Swanson began exhibiting in 2009 and has been on an upward trajectory of recognition. He integrates issues of climate change and humanity into his work with a dynamic sense of color and composition. A definite levity is evident in the work and Swanson will even create personalized bike portraits for patrons.  In his debut solo show at the Duluth Art Institute, Swanson will explore the benefits and pitfalls of using past ideas in order to progress; using emotions as tools rather than a hindrance. 
    
    “In my work I deconstruct the ideas that are part of our childhood and adult culture. My work also addresses the future, fragility of the human presence, perseverance of nature and underlying threads of danger that underpin societies.”
